Slice and Dice Your Market

Who is your target market? This is a really, really good question to ask yourself everyday. What are their problems and what solutions can you provide? One of the common things I see in network marketing is a very narrow view on a very specific target market…the business opportunity seekers.
Their are people in the mlm business who are genuinely aiming to distribute product and we will get to that in a moment, but for now, lets take a look at the business opportunity seekers market.
If you do a quick search on the Internet, you will find the competition for this niche mind blowing. The amount of people trying to get the attention of this target market is staggering. One of the biggest problems I have with this is; if you are training a team of people and you are all vying for the same target market, you are in competition with each other. There are other ways to do this that will allow your team to work together.
Like any good diet, a variety of foods is needed to make it complete. As with a good marketing diet, tapping into a variety of target markets is also a good idea. So I am not saying that it is a bad idea to target business opportunity seekers, but making it the staple of your marketing diet may not be so wise.
If you decide to make the distribution of your mlm products your staple, and make the business builders the dessert at the end of a hardy meal, your business is going to look a lot healthier at the end of the day. The other advantage to this is your team will no longer be in competition with each other.
If you show your team how to market and allow them to market to their strengths (aka their knowledge, passion, and life experience), you will have a team that is marketing to many, many different niches. This will mean a large volume of product getting moved and a smaller but more productive team of sales reps for you mlm organization. I really feel that people should move away from the ‘recruiting mentality’, and get into the ‘marketing your products to a niche mentality’.
Here is a video I made outlining the marketing pipeline; how and where your different target markets fit into the picture.
Understanding the Marketing Pipeline and Where Your Target Market Is
There are so many niches that are related to mlm products that have not yet been properly marketed to it is mind boggling. Although many people in the mlm industry are flocking to the Internet to generate business, very few are segmenting their market and targeting the people that are seeking solutions to problems that their mlm product could be able to solve.
The Internet could well be the next big Gold Rush of our generation…if only you know where to look for the traffic veins. As Ken Evoy said;
“The people learning to market on the Internet today, will be the diamonds of tomorrow”
So put on your thinking cap, workout what your strength is, and join the gold rush!

Joining Forces With The Renegade University
February 14, 2008
Since The Renegade Network Marketer was released in June of 2008, I have been coming up with ways to help people get the most out of Ann Sieg’s Renegade Network Marketer System. I have created training videos, an ebook, blog posts, and held webinars to help my Renegade Marketer customers as much as I can.
When you are in any particular niche, it is quite natural to keep an eye on your competitors to see what they are up to. Competition is a great thing and only means better materials and services for paying customers. When the Renegade University came onto the marketing radar (or Google alerts), I have a feeling that this would be a strong competitor in the niche of helping network marketers understand Internet marketing.
At first, I viewed the Renegade University as competition to what I was doing in relation to training materials. When it was launched in late December, I joined the free membership area so I could see what was in there. I had a bit of a look around but didn’t pay too much attention as I was too busy holidaying on the Gold Coast.
When I got back from my one month long holiday, I had a mountain of work to get through and so I didn’t go over to The Renegade University, I was just too busy.
When the Renegade University Professional Upgrade was released, I felt compelled to go over and check it out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the training offered actually complimented what I do beautifully. I really enjoy helping people setup and implement their marketing systems and the Renegade University has excellent training on how to market using the Internet. This I felt was pretty much the perfect combination. Joining forces with The Renegade University would actually make my life easier and allow me offer a lot more value to the people that I work with.
I immediately joined up and started working on a bonus for people working with me at the Renegade University. I wanted to offer something to people that would allow them to get double the value when working with me.
There are two levels to the Renegade University;
- The Renegade University Free Membership - this is an area where people can get good training on setting up their Renegade marketing system and get into some basic marketing.
- The Renegade University Professional - this is the paid area of the site and has a large range of training videos on offer. The training is such that beginners will be able to benefit from it and there is also plenty of information for the intermediate to advanced marketers.
For people working with me in The Renegade University there will be an extra level, The Accelerated Marketing Class. I have restricted it to 25 people per term. This will be an intensive course where there will be a lot of additional training and marketing resources on offer.
For the people that are working with me at The Renegade University on the Professional level but are not in the Accelerated Marketing Class, there will still be a lot on offer.
My marketing system and materials will still be available and I will be doing additional training calls, but not to the same level of personalization that I will offer to people attending the accelerated course.
The Renegade Professionals will also have to do all of their own installations and customizations of my marketing system where as I will be doing this for the accelerated class to allow them to get into action much quicker.
Here is a video that goes through the marketing process that I will be offering the accelerated class and Professionals.
More Information
I have created a support forum for Renegade Network Marketers. There is a thread there where you can see a breakdown of what materials are needed to join my accelerated marketing course. You will find it under the topic of ‘The levels of training at the Renegade University’. This will explain all the materials needed and the costs involved.

Renegade University Review
February 12, 2008
The Renegade University is a training site that is designed to help network marketers who want to learn how to use the Internet to grow their mlm business. This is a membership site designed by network marketers for network marketers. The Renegade University uses The Renegade Network Marketer by Ann Sieg as the text book. The training is, ‘marketing tactics’ focused and one of the main themes is social marketing. There are some great resources that also allow for effective promotion of The Renegade Network Marketer ebook.
There are 2 levels of The Renegade University;
- The first level is the Renegade University Free Membership area where there is a good amount of training that will help people set up their Renegade System and get into marketing on a basic level.
- The second level is called the Professional level. There is a paid area and has a very extensive training section that is designed to help beginner to intermediate marketers learn the ropes of Internet marketing. Once you get your free membership you can then chose to upgrade at anytime. There is a 7 day period where you can trail the training available for $1.
I am offering some very tempting bonuses for people thinking about using this training. People who have upgraded to the Renegade University Professional level through me will have access to a personalized version of my Renegade Guide ebook and the video training series that I have created. I also offer my Renegade professionals additional videos that I create so that they can continually add content to their training site is a similar fashion to this one.
For a select group of people I will be holding an accelerated marketing program. This is a program that is for only the most serious marketers. It requires a substantial time and money commitment. People who do this course would be the type of people who are interested in being trainers using technology. They will learn how to run online workshops to train their team of Renegade prospects is the skills of setting up marketing systems.
You can read more about the Renegade University Professional Upgrade Bonuses and the Renegade University Accelerated Marketing Course in the support forum for Renegade Network Marketers that I have setup.
