What is the point of The Renegade Network Marketer?

I find it ironic that network marketing or multi level marketing companies overlook one of the most critical elements in the business, marketing.

Some of the “marketing” tactics that the companies ask their distributors to perform are barely believable. Things like printing flyers and putting them on windshields of cars, sticking them in bus shelters and in toilets…really, what is that all about. Then there is the drive by prospecting method where you fill a snap bag full of pebbles, stick in a flyer and lob the bag onto peoples driveways.

What sort of credibility is this building for the marketer? And without even mentioning the credibility factor, how targeted are these approaches. I wouldn’t even call that a shot gun approach, it is more like throwing seeds to the wind and hoping they land in fertile soil. Even direct mail marketers buy lists of names so that they are targeting specific people, it is definitely not random.

The Renegade Network Marketing Machine

I feel The Renegade Network Marketer is just part of the picture when we are talking about a marketing machine. I will explain what I mean using the analogy of farming.

The Internet is like a tractor and combine. This is how you get your seeds planted. Having said this, it is not a simple matter of just spreading a few seeds around and hoping something will grow. First you must study the lie of the land and find out what grows where. This would be the equivalent of market research. The way to go is to find a product that you feel is in demand and is priced reasonably and start there. Once you are getting a healthy crop of retail sales, it is then time to introduce people to the next possibility, which is going from a customer to a distributor. There is only going to be a small percentage of people that will be interested, but if you have a large enough pool of retail customers, that will be more than enough. This is where The Renegade Network Marketer will come into its own, once you have people that have expressed and interest in doing business, you can introduce them to The Renegade System. Whether you are introducing your customers to The Renegade Network Marketer or some other affiliate program, in order to encourage them to take the next step, you want to be sure that the merchant knows how to sell.

Once you introduce people to The Renegade Marketing System you can feel confident that the marketing process is sound. Ann Sieg has hired Eric Graham to do all of her copy writing and testing. This means that you have a very well respected and professional marketer testing every piece of marketing material that is being introduced to your customers.

I personally prefer to have a little more control over what messages are sent to my customers, so I create my own squeeze pages and take control off my own list. This is not essential but advisable in my opinion.

Using the retail customer approach, you are growing a sustainable online mlm business through sales and yielding a percentage of business builders from this harvest. If you are going after the business builders by sowing your crop in the over-worked soil of business opportunity seekers, your harvest will be a lot smaller because of all the weeds you have to contend with (I shouldn’t call my fellow marketers weeds, but you know what I mean).

I posted an example of how to grow an online mlm business using this approach with YTB as an example. You can read about that post here…

At the end of the day mlm is about distribution of products and so if you gear your marketing machine towards that end and have your ‘business seekers marketer machine’ in place as a secondary, things will grow in a natural order.

Once you have enough cash flow through retail sales, you may wish to then purchase some premium property in the business seekers market. Cash flow in your business will give you the luxury of contenting with the heavy hitters in this field. You may just find that you are going fine without even having to bother going there.

Let the others squabble over the scraps of the heavy hitters, while you are merrily working in the fertile grounds of retail sales and customer relationships.

I received an email from a man the other day asking me whether Ann Sieg’s System, The Renegade Network Marketer and my FREE report, The Step by Step Guide To Becoming a Successful Renegade could be applied to his business. I had a look at his website and within a couple of minutes it was clear that Ann Sieg’s Renegade System would work well…very well.

Here is his website: http://www.ytbtravel.com/bmj

I don’t know Barry at all, I was just happy to give him some advice. I am quite sure he will be happy to know that his website is being featured in a blog that is regularly around the first pages of Google. I would sure love that.

The thing is, unless the traffic is targeted, it will have no real value. If you are about to go on a holiday, then maybe you will give Barry a call. The point is, most people that come to my site are not coming because they are thinking about a holiday, they are thinking about making their network marketing businesses successful so they can take a holiday. So we won’t put the cart before the horse Barry…but you never know your luck :).

If I didn’t have so many other things to do, I would certainly consider building a website around this company. It would be a lot of fun and rewarding in more ways than one.

I think Barry could enter The SBI/Renegade InterNETwork Marketing contest and do very well. If you remember from a previous post, the contestants must build a website using the Site Build It web hosting service and follow the SBI traffic formula. The website must not to mention mlm, your mlm company name, or your mlm products.

If we were to look at Barry’s travel business as an example, how is this possible?

Rather than explain, it would be easier to go over to Ken Evoy’s (founder & president of SBI) daughter’s website www.anguilla-beaches.com. This website has nothing to do with mlm but I am sure you will get the idea.

If Barry where to choose one location that he knows well and is passionate about, he could build and excellent website based on a similar format as Ken Evoy’s daughter. It would be a cinch for him to have a contact form offering a quote on the best travel packages without ever mentioning his company. He could send them a quote and then direct them to the generic company website…lovely!

So how much potential does this have? A heck of a lot I think.

The thing to understand is this; if Barry wants to compete with all of the big travel companies on the Internet, he is going to get slaughtered on advertising cost. Those companies have a huge marketing budget thus making it near impossible for the average marketer to compete on that level.

The thing that Barry has got going for him though, is that the travel companies won’t build a site that has all the answers that people are looking for on one specific travel destination, such as Ken’s Daughter’s website. That would be much too time consuming.

The reason that Ann Sieg was so successful in her previous mlm venture and was able to put her mlm success formula into the system we now know as The Renegade Network Marketer, was because of the retail sales she was able to generate and the amount of leads that this produced.

Using Ann Sieg’s attraction marketing principles in conjunction with the SBI traffic formula, Barry has a lot of potential.

Once people use his travel service and realize that it is possible for them to also have this as a home-based business, a percentage of his customers will naturally be interested. This is an absolutely perfect niche to be in because Barry’s downline could all build websites around different travel destinations that they were interested in. This would mean that they would not even be competing against each other.

They all would generate retail sales and the whole organization would be growing nicely.

My advice to Barry is to go over and check out http://mlm.sitesell.com.

Once Barry has people interested in working with him on a business level, the first thing he could do is refer them to The Renegade Network Marketer, this would be his business model. His downline wouldn’t use all of the affiliate programs in the Renegade System back-end, but they would use quite a few.

This would mean that he now has steady retail sales coming in for his travel business, affiliate commission coming from The Renegade Network Marketer, and affiliate commissions coming from associated affiliate programs such as Aweber, SBI, SendOutCards and some of the other services required to have an online business.

So to answer Barry’s question can The Renegade Network Marketer and my Renegade Guide be applied to his business…yes, yes, and yes!

What are you waiting for Barry, get writing!

The 10k that Ken Evoy is putting up for 1st prize in this contest might seem like small change at the end of one year (this is the duration of the contest), but hey, who couldn’t use a $10,000 bonus for earning the title of being the highest earning SBI/Renegade InterNETwork Marketer. That is an ebook in the making!

I sure hope Barry’s website is one I get to feature while covering this contest.

I will be following other websites that are using Ken Evoy’s principles to grow solid online mlm businesses. Be sure to subscribe to the Renegade Guide RSS feed to get the latest on the SBI/Renegade InterNETwork Marketing contest. You will definitely pick up some great ideas for your own website.

What would the undisputed Queen of The Renegade Network Marketing System say about the mlm industry if you had the chance to ask her? This dialogue is of course fictional but if you study Ann Sieg’s e-book, The Renegade Network Marketer, I am sure you would agree that this fictional conversation is right on the money.
Before we get into the down and dirty tactics of becoming a renegade marketer, let’s make one thing perfectly clear: from this day forward, you won’t be able to lean on excuses as to why your network marketing success has stalled (if it ever got off the ground in the first place).
Tell me Renegade Queen, what is the biggest complaint you hear about the mlm industry?

“I’ve heard for years the excuses most MLMers like to use. “I don’t know how to build a downline,” “I thought they were going to build my business for me,” or my personal favourite, “I followed the system step by step and I still haven’t seen a cent!”

Renegade network marketers don’t care what claims the company makes. In most cases, it’s like the blind leading the blind – everyone spouting off the same hype and promises, with no true understanding of what it takes to make a network marketing business succeed”.

If you could, what would you say to those people that are struggling to make their network marketing businesses work?

“If you’ve ever been embarrassed trying to lasso a family member into your downline, or felt worthless because you couldn’t close a single sale with the product you were supposed to be promoting, don’t feel bad – you were duped just like millions of other MLM hopefuls who wasted both time and money in an industry that sets most people up for failure.

The truth of the matter is, many network marketing opportunities could leave you penniless and friendless after you work the system the way they tell you to.But there is a better way!”

You mention that there is a better way, are you going to let us in on your secret formula for mlm success?

“Well as a matter of fact, I am. It is actually not a secret, I have detailed the exact process that sky rocketed me into MLM success in a comprehensive e-book called, The Renegade Network Marketer.

So what is the essence a Renegade Network Marketer Ann?

“A Renegade Network Marketer doesn’t leave fate in control of her success. She has customers coming to her to build her downline. She doesn’t waste precious time building her business with success mindset products meant to gloss over the fact that you just don’t know what you’re doing.”

“You want to be a renegade network marketer – the kind who brushes off the outdated and stale methods of lead generation and adopts modern techniques that funnel targeted prospects into your system automatically. Not someone naive enough to believe the great MLM fairy will drop in on you one night and bless you with success.”

You seem like a women on a mission. What is your vision for The Renegade Network Marketer?

“My vision is to raise the level of professionalism in the mlm industry. I want people to be able to hold their head high and feel proud of their chosen profession, network marketing. Quit frankly, until people quit the outdated, sneaky tactics that have been exploited in the past, it will be hard for our industry to be perceived in a professional light.”

“My mission, using The Renegade as a vehicle, is to help people run their mlm business as exactly that, a business! I am certain that over time, this is going to change the whole mlm industry for the better.”

The Renegade Network Marketer System has a lot of great affiliate products in the back end and the latest edition is nothing short of phenomenal in my opinion. When you are generating leads with the Renegade Network Marketer or any business for that matter, it is essential that you have a very systematic follow-up strategy in place. The Oprius system will organise your work and never let you miss an appointment or follow-up task.

Oprius is a sales contact management system that was designed with the mlm industry in mind. The great thing about Oprius is that it also gives you the ability to create unlimited landing pages and has an autoresponder. It is totally amazing that they can offer this outstanding product for less than $15 per month, here is a list or the features;

Appointments - An intuitive drag and drop calendar as simple to use as the one on your fridge. You can pre-load the Calendar with your Renegade team’s weekly recruiting and training calls.

Keep Track of Your Relationships - Keep track of everything to do with a prospect/distributor, including: phone calls, voicemails, emails, tools sent, tasks, 5 compelling reasons, where they are in the recruiting or getting started process and much more.

Reminders and to-do Lists - The Task list is the perfect place to create reminders for the tools and literature you need to give to people and the emails you need to send.

Landing Pages - This allows you to create landing pages so that prospects can opt-in to your mailing lists. Oprius allows you to create unlimited opt-in pages.

Pre-set Templates -When someone joins your team, you can give them a link to Oprius that will have all of the essential material they will need to build there business. This will save them and you hours of work.

And there is much more;

- A free email account (you can use this to create a Renegade specific email if you don’t already have one)
- Easily Send Emails To Groups Of People
- Get reminders sent to your cell phone

The Renegade Network Marketer is a system that was designed around the principles of attraction marketing. Ann Sieg writes in the last Chapter of her e-book that she wants you to take the system she has used with such extraordinary success and use it as your own. Once you are comfortable with her system, she then wants you go out and do it for yourself.

Do what you might ask?

Create your own system to generate massive amounts of retail sales and have prospects calling you who are wanting to join your mlm business.

I would like to share my experience of first meeting Ann Sieg well before The Renegade Network Marketer was released and what lessons can be drawn from that experience.

When I first meet Ann Sieg, she was actually developing a system to grow a very healthy mlm organization. Once Ann Sieg cracked the code for mlm success, she then turned it into a system that is now known as The Renegade Network Marketer.

Ann Sieg had decided that her target market would be frustrated and struggling network marketers (and there is definitely no shortage of those). The solution that she was offering at that time was a mlm training course that was going to help these frustrated mlmer’s move in the right direction.

Ann was selling a course that was not her own material but a particular mlm training company’s. In essence, Ann Sieg was building a network marketing business that trains people to become effective network marketers.

The course Ann was selling had stand alone value but there was also the option to go on and subscribe to more detailed sales and marketing training with the company she was promoting.

At this point, Ann Sieg had not only learned what she was promoting, she was implementing it with such precision that her team was responsible for bringing in over 80% of all the new subscriptions in that company.

The printers couldn’t print the course fast enough and Ann had to tone down her marketing because her burgeoning team couldn’t service all of the consultation requests! Ann Sieg had taken her sales and marketing training and made it work…phenomenally well.

When The Student Is Ready, The Teacher Appears

This may seem a little cliché but it is definitely true. We could also apply this to marketing;
“When The Buyer is Ready, The Marketer Appears”.

A master marketer will know exactly where to be in order to provide the right solution at the right time. When a person is feed up with their situation and is ready to change, that is the magic time. You virtually don’t need to sell at all when you get a buyer that is hungry for your solution.

Enter Ann Sieg…

I joined network marketing and was very excited about the possibilities. I had fallen for the old rubbish that is often passed around at mlm opportunity meetings. A friend of mine who is a clever guy had introduced me to mlm. I trusted this friend and so followed his lead.

He has since left the mlm industry and I am quite sure he will not be back for a while. Once bitten twice shy.

When a close friend heard that I was caught up in ‘the evil mlm industry’, he sent me a link to a site that was vehemently opposed to mlm. After reading through this website, I was so deflated that I actually called the people with whom I had arranged meetings with and canceled. I told them straight out that I had changed my mind and no longer thought my opportunity was a good idea, I had nothing to offer.

I then started searching the Internet for answers. I found a lot of negativity around network marketing. Of course with my mindset at that time, I was searching for things such as ‘is mlm a scam’, ‘mlm fraud’ and the like. Happy mlmer’s don’t key in searches like this, frustrated mlmer’s do. This was Ann Sieg’s target market.

Blurry eyed at about 1am in the morning, I stumbled across a thread in a forum talking about Ann Sieg. I followed a link which took me to Ann Sieg’s sales page at that time.

When I read the headline and the fist paragraph of Ann’s sales page, it hit me like a freight train. This was someone who not only knew & understood what I was going through, she had obviously been through it too. This is marketing at its very best.

Needless to say, I read the rest of her quite long sales copy and was already starting to feel more positive. I didn’t whip out my credit card that night but the next day I went back and re-read the copy and this time decided to purchase. I had trouble getting my credit card to process as I am in Australia and Ann is in the US. I was not going to let that stop me though, I wanted what Ann Sieg was offering!

This is the sort of prospect you want, one that will not stop at the first hurdle because they so desperately want what you have. They just know you are the one with the key to unlock their problem. This is sales in print…beautiful (only a marketing nut would talk about a sales page in this way but it is true). That sales page should be framed and put in the marketers hall of fame. It pulled like crazy, day and night, all over the globe.

I called the customer support number and to my utter surprise Ann Sieg herself answered the phone. She was very helpful and didn’t try and sell me anything at all. She was more concerned that if I was not happy with the product, it would be costly to return from Australia

There was also a free consultation offered on the sales page and so I decided that I would take advantage of that. By the time one of Ann Sieg’s associates contacted me, I had already subscribed to the monthly mlm training that Ann was promoting back then.

As you can see, when the marketing does its job, it makes it very easy on the sales person. All Ann had to do was agree with me telling her that she had what I needed. All Ann’s associate, Sherry Higdon had to do, was welcome me to the training.

Sherry routinely sponsored over 20 people per month into her business. Her best month was 26 people! Sherry is a wonderful lady and has great sales skills. When you combine this with laser targeted, highly qualified leads, you have the ultimate recipe for success.

Within a month of doing the training and experiencing the additional support from Ann’s team, I was asking how I could be part of that team. This was by no means an unusual event, it was happening to Ann everyday!

Lets Examine The Process:

a) Ann Sieg chooses her target market

b) She understands their problem and their psychology

c) She finds a product that is going to help their problem but also leaves room for additional sales

d) She writes excellent sales copy and offers top notch customer service

e) Adds additional value to the product with supplementary training

f) Naturally attracts people into her business

g) Generates enough retail sales to give her the option to expand her advertising

h) Has so many people requesting consultations that her ever growing team can’t keep up with the leads that she is now supplying them

i) Continues to train the team to be excellent in sales

j) Uses the capital from the retail sales to create her own product and promote it

This is just a basic outline of the pathway to success. The Renegade Network Marketing System is the embodiment of all that Ann has done to be sky-rocketed into mlm stardom. I make it sound fairly simple and it kind of is. I probably should also mention that Ann has worked relentlessly for years and spent untold money and time on developing herself.

There are 2 ways to use Ann’s Renegade System:

1. You can use it to go after the same target market as Ann Sieg; frustrated, failing network marketers.

or…

2. Use the philosophy of The Renegade Network Marketer and apply it to your existing mlm business and then use the Renegade business model on the back end once you have people interested in doing business with you.

The Frustrated Network Marketer As Your Target Market Approach

There are a lot of people out there struggling to succeed in network marketing and so this is certainly a legitimate target market. The only problem with this niche is there are literally thousands of other people gunning for the top ad positions and #1 page rank on Goggle.

It is a fierce market and unless you are extremely passionate about helping these people fix their problems in mlm, don’t waste your time and money. I know for a fact that Ann Sieg is extremely passionate about making a positive change in the mlm industry.

The other thing to consider when getting into this niche is that most people that you attract will already be involved in a mlm company. This means that you will certainly have to have a company that is going to be universally complimentary to most mlm opportunities.

You don’t want to be known as someone who goes around poaching from other peoples downline. Ann Sieg’s original company was mlm training and so that fits perfectly into the scheme of things. Most people in Ann Sieg’s team were promoting their primary company as well as the mlm training. It is really a match made in heaven.

These days Ann is focused on marketing and you will see that she has very wisely chosen a company that fits into the marketing niche. Lets face it, what network marketer doesn’t need marketing.

No marketing = no Prospects

No prospects = hounding friends, family and anyone that will listen.

The Philosophy of The Renegade Network Marketer Approach

This is the approach that makes the most sense to me. You find what you are knowledgeable about, what you are passionate about, and then you find a product and company that fits. If you are in a mlm with products that don’t fit your passion, knowledge, and life experience; it may be time to start looking for a new one. Once you have worked out what you are going to promote, follow the steps that I outlined above and knock yourself out.

I would still recommend using The Renegade Network Marketer as a business model, but find what problems you can really solve for people and lead with that. You will find that out of the ever growing pool of retail customers, there will be people interested in your business (this is exactly what Ann did) and then use the Renegade as a business model.

If you should choose the ‘help struggling network marketers succeed niche’… welcome to the lions den!

The breeding ground for the mlm/Internet marketing niche is a jungle. There are predators at every turn all too eager to divest you of your marketing budget. Once you know where they are lurking, you should be fairly safe, just as long as you don’t get eaten along the way.

There is enough room for everyone to give it a shot. It is not so scary once you tame ‘em, just a lot of consistent hard work!

I have put together a guide to help you adjust to this environment if you are new to The Renegade Network Marketer or Internet marketing. Who wouldn’t use a guide if they where going on a safari tour? Why not let your old mate Renegade Aussie show you around the Internet jungle for a while, so you know where the Paraná are hiding out!

There is only so much time in a day and so as much as possible, we need to think about automating our online business. One way to do this is to use a autoresponder to send out your marketing messages in a timely fashion and sequential a order. When comes to running an online business, I would rate choosing the right autoresponder very high on the priority list.

I have used a number of autoresponders and Aweber gets my vote because it is easy to use, reliable, and well priced.

Here is a video showing you how to setup a mailing list through Aweber.

If you are running an online business, it looks more professional to have your email addresses matching your website address. Nearly all web hosting plans will allow you to have unlimited email accounts as part of the package.

I like to setup one email account for each website and then create forwarding email addresses so that all mail comes into one place. You may have noticed that most online businesses have email addresses such as support@, info@, noreply@. I create my first account with my name@ and then after that I forward the rest to that account. I do this because if I go on holidays, I don’t want to be logging into 5 separate web mail accounts to check my mail every time.

When I am working from home, I like to have all of my mail come into my inbox with Outlook. In this video I show you how to do all of these three things.

This may sound a little bit complicated but it is actually a very simple process that will take you literally a couple of minutes. A domain name is like purchasing an address, a web host is a place where you keep all of your stuff (articles, video, audio, pictures…). In the real world when you buy a house the address is usually the same location as the house. On the Internet though, people will often buy a domain name at one place, and the house to store all of their content at another place.

Redirecting your nameservers is a simple matter of changing the address on your domain name so that it points to the place where you have all of your content stored, your web hosting company. Here is a short video walking you through the process.

Redirecting Your Nameservers

Getting the Right Domain Name

If you haven’t purchased a domain name yet and are not quite sure what to do, you may find my article about buying a domain name useful. In that article, I give 7 tips to help you get the perfect name for your business.

If you have your domain name and are wondering which company to host your website with, my post about choosing the right web hosting plan will help you understand what to look for in a company.

Late last year Rich Schefren released a free report that got a lot attention. The report was called, ‘The Attention Age Doctrine‘. It was an excellent read and one of those free reports that is worth printing and reading a number of times with pen in hand.

I had not heard of Rich Schefren prior to reading this report and so I was thrilled to discover a marketer who puts out material that is so rich in content (pardon the pun). Through reading Rich’s report, I learned of Jay Abraham, Rich’s mentor. I posted a 5 part video series of Jay Abraham giving a talk at a seminar. If you love marketing, this video series is definitely worth watching.

This week Jay Abraham and Rich Schefren released a free ebook that they co-produced, The Maven Matrix. I can’t say whether it is good or bad at this point because I have had an enormous amount of work to get through this week and so this ebook is still on my must read list. I will say that anything that I have seen released by either of these two guys has been sensational and so I can only guess that this ebook will be no different. You can get a copy of that free report here…
Hope you enjoy it, I know I sure will!
