The Renegade Network Marketer and Your Niche…

I received an email from a man the other day asking me whether Ann Sieg’s System, The Renegade Network Marketer and my FREE report, The Step by Step Guide To Becoming a Successful Renegade could be applied to his business. I had a look at his website and within a couple of minutes it was clear that Ann Sieg’s Renegade System would work well…very well.
Here is his website: http://www.ytbtravel.com/bmj
I don’t know Barry at all, I was just happy to give him some advice. I am quite sure he will be happy to know that his website is being featured in a blog that is regularly around the first pages of Google. I would sure love that.
The thing is, unless the traffic is targeted, it will have no real value. If you are about to go on a holiday, then maybe you will give Barry a call. The point is, most people that come to my site are not coming because they are thinking about a holiday, they are thinking about making their network marketing businesses successful so they can take a holiday. So we won’t put the cart before the horse Barry…but you never know your luck :).
If I didn’t have so many other things to do, I would certainly consider building a website around this company. It would be a lot of fun and rewarding in more ways than one.
I think Barry could enter The SBI/Renegade InterNETwork Marketing contest and do very well. If you remember from a previous post, the contestants must build a website using the Site Build It web hosting service and follow the SBI traffic formula.
The website must not to mention mlm, your mlm company name, or your mlm products.
If we were to look at Barry’s travel business as an example, how is this possible?
Rather than explain, it would be easier to go over to Ken Evoy’s (founder & president of SBI) daughter’s website www.anguilla-beaches.com. This website has nothing to do with mlm but I am sure you will get the idea.
If Barry where to choose one location that he knows well and is passionate about, he could build and excellent website based on a similar format as Ken Evoy’s daughter. It would be a cinch for him to have a contact form offering a quote on the best travel packages without ever mentioning his company. He could send them a quote and then direct them to the generic company website…lovely!
So how much potential does this have? A heck of a lot I think.
The thing to understand is this; if Barry wants to compete with all of the big travel companies on the Internet, he is going to get slaughtered on advertising cost. Those companies have a huge marketing budget thus making it near impossible for the average marketer to compete on that level.
The thing that Barry has got going for him though, is that the travel companies won’t build a site that has all the answers that people are looking for on one specific travel destination, such as Ken’s Daughter’s website. That would be much too time consuming.
The reason that Ann Sieg was so successful in her previous mlm venture and was able to put her mlm success formula into the system we now know as The Renegade Network Marketer, was because of the retail sales she was able to generate and the amount of leads that this produced.
Using Ann Sieg’s attraction marketing principles in conjunction with the SBI traffic formula, Barry has a lot of potential.
Once people use his travel service and realize that it is possible for them to also have this as a home-based business, a percentage of his customers will naturally be interested. This is an absolutely perfect niche to be in because Barry’s downline could all build websites around different travel destinations that they were interested in. This would mean that they would not even be competing against each other.
They all would generate retail sales and the whole organization would be growing nicely.
My advice to Barry is to go over and check out http://mlm.sitesell.com.
Once Barry has people interested in working with him on a business level, the first thing he could do is refer them to The Renegade Network Marketer, this would be his business model. His downline wouldn’t use all of the affiliate programs in the Renegade System back-end, but they would use quite a few.
This would mean that he now has steady retail sales coming in for his travel business, affiliate commission coming from The Renegade Network Marketer, and affiliate commissions coming from associated affiliate programs such as Aweber, SBI, SendOutCards and some of the other services required to have an online business.
So to answer Barry’s question can The Renegade Network Marketer and my Renegade Guide be applied to his business…yes, yes, and yes!
What are you waiting for Barry, get writing!
The 10k that Ken Evoy is putting up for 1st prize in this contest might seem like small change at the end of one year (this is the duration of the contest), but hey, who couldn’t use a $10,000 bonus for earning the title of being the highest earning SBI/Renegade InterNETwork Marketer. That is an ebook in the making!
I sure hope Barry’s website is one I get to feature while covering this contest.
I will be following other websites that are using Ken Evoy’s principles to grow solid online mlm businesses. Be sure to subscribe to the Renegade Guide RSS feed to get the latest on the SBI/Renegade InterNETwork Marketing contest. You will definitely pick up some great ideas for your own website.
Slice and Dice Your Market
February 22, 2008
Who is your target market? This is a really, really good question to ask yourself everyday. What are their problems and what solutions can you provide? One of the common things I see in network marketing is a very narrow view on a very specific target market…the business opportunity seekers.
Their are people in the mlm business who are genuinely aiming to distribute product and we will get to that in a moment, but for now, lets take a look at the business opportunity seekers market.
If you do a quick search on the Internet, you will find the competition for this niche mind blowing. The amount of people trying to get the attention of this target market is staggering. One of the biggest problems I have with this is; if you are training a team of people and you are all vying for the same target market, you are in competition with each other. There are other ways to do this that will allow your team to work together.
Like any good diet, a variety of foods is needed to make it complete. As with a good marketing diet, tapping into a variety of target markets is also a good idea. So I am not saying that it is a bad idea to target business opportunity seekers, but making it the staple of your marketing diet may not be so wise.
If you decide to make the distribution of your mlm products your staple, and make the business builders the dessert at the end of a hardy meal, your business is going to look a lot healthier at the end of the day. The other advantage to this is your team will no longer be in competition with each other.
If you show your team how to market and allow them to market to their strengths (aka their knowledge, passion, and life experience), you will have a team that is marketing to many, many different niches. This will mean a large volume of product getting moved and a smaller but more productive team of sales reps for you mlm organization. I really feel that people should move away from the ‘recruiting mentality’, and get into the ‘marketing your products to a niche mentality’.
Here is a video I made outlining the marketing pipeline; how and where your different target markets fit into the picture.
Understanding the Marketing Pipeline and Where Your Target Market Is
There are so many niches that are related to mlm products that have not yet been properly marketed to it is mind boggling. Although many people in the mlm industry are flocking to the Internet to generate business, very few are segmenting their market and targeting the people that are seeking solutions to problems that their mlm product could be able to solve.
The Internet could well be the next big Gold Rush of our generation…if only you know where to look for the traffic veins. As Ken Evoy said;
“The people learning to market on the Internet today, will be the diamonds of tomorrow”
So put on your thinking cap, workout what your strength is, and join the gold rush!
